Finally it is spring!! For some of you it has been spring for a while, but where I live spring is precious and comes late....sometimes as late as the first of May. I have been asked a lot about my process for creating art......so I thought I would write a little about it. I think you would call my process intuitive - I let the painting tell me what comes next. I am inspired by colors......colors on someone's clothes, in a garden, on another's artwork. I start with a base layer of grey and using a sponge, I blend it in so that the color is not even. I then start by adding colors blending each one in. I step back and I "know" the painting needs winsor blue right "there". I add colors until I feel that I am done for the day. Sometimes I bring the painting into my kitchen and walk by it for a couple of days until it "speaks" to me again. The process of creating abstract art is one of doing and feeling. And the amazing thing is the person viewing the finished painting undergoes their own process of looking and feeling. Abstract art is an immersive process, and I passionately believe this is a very precious experience in a life where everything is measured. Come experience abstract art!!
